這學期修了一堂美術課，結果老師要我幫忙翻譯他的期刊摘要.... 因為本身不是翻譯系，怕翻得不是很好，登上期刊論文會很難看。 所以請教各位大大能否幫忙看一下是否有大錯之處。 (我翻的-英文) Innovation and refinement are the source of artistic creation. When artists are pursuing their own self-fulfillment, it is unavoidable for them to face the dilemma of a choice between the historical tradition and the trend of the times. Knowing how to deal with the predicament and how to avoid being the slave of tradition or the foam of trend are of significance. Specifically, if the artist is wise enough to overcome and take advantage of the difficult situation, the way of how to deal with the conflicts would be an invaluable asset rather than being a heavy burden on him or her. For this reason, putting more efforts into analyzing and evaluating the setting, the essence, and the historical value of artworks produced by brilliant painters from different schools of painting are always in demand. Besides, to transcend the limits of existing artwork, or to make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear, artists ought not to blindly follow the art tradition and not to chase after the art trend. 藝術創作是要不斷的創新精進，在「自我價值探求」的追尋過程途徑中，面對「歷史傳統」 與「時代潮流」的選擇衝擊，如何去面對因應，避免成為傳統的奴隸或潮流的浮漚，當你有 足夠智慧去攫取，它可能成為資產與養分，反之，卻變為困惑與包袱；因此，用心去專研理 解分析評鑑各流派畫家創作作品的時代背景、精神內涵與歷史價值，是必然的；不盲從傳統 ，不趨附潮流，才能「超越」，才能化「腐朽」為「神奇」。 The spirits of Chinese water-and-brush painting are not only generated from the external expression of using ink and brushes, but also developed from the internal conception of abstraction. Thus, against the backdrop of the contemporary society which is diversified and chaotic, we must establish our personal painting type and create our individual language style embedded in the ink paintings which aim to preserve the beauty of Taiwan. However, only having foresight, as well as eagles’ eyes, can assure us of our rewards. 中國水墨畫的「神髓」，絕非外在表象的筆墨技巧而已，它有其內在蘊含深奧意境的「抽象 性」；故如何在當今多元盲亂氛圍背景中，塑造其獨特價值的畫種，創造屬於自己臺灣美麗 島嶼的水墨語言風格，是極需要擁有超人銳利的「鷹眼」智慧，才能如願以償。 In this article, I elaborate my beliefs in art creation, and provide some humble opinions which are motivated by the changes in my paintings, from the early of traditional replicas, to landscape sketch, to the stage of local ink painting connecting the culture and values of Taiwan.
