標題[文法] someone後面要接什麼代名詞?

如題，我舉個例子，
ex: If someone wants to buy the sports car,
he or she needs to earn money diligently.
用he or she是一定正確，只是有點冗長跟贅字，
好像有看過有用"they"代替的，只是someone是單數
總覺得用"they"是錯誤的，有人知道還能怎麼表達嗎?
