The government in Kabul controls less than two-thirds of the country,
according to a US estimate – and in Taliban-controlled areas nothing has
changed.
根據美方統計，喀布爾政府控制的地區不超過2/3，而且塔利班控制的區域也未改變。
“They have either burned girls’ schools or don’t allow women to work,”
Bayat says. “This tells us how they might be if they come back.”
「他們也曾燒毀女校，不然就是禁止女性工作，」Bayat如此說，「這些都顯示，要是他
們回來了，事情將會變得如何。」
Afghan women have even more reason to worry if they are “shut out of the
negotiation process, as they mostly have been,” says Heather Barr, a senior
women’s rights researcher.
阿富汗女人更加擔心要是他們「關閉協商過程，就像過去他們大部份所做的一樣，」
Heather Barr說，一位資深的女權研究者。
