標題[文法] 方位的片語，但不知道怎麼用?

今天老師上課時，補充這兩個片語，但我不知道怎麼用。
in the east of ....
in east of ....
但我知道，有加the 是名詞
沒有加the是副詞。
我目前只查到in the east of ...在...東部
那in east of 跟in the east of
要怎麼區分跟使用
