标题[文法] 方位的片语，但不知道怎麽用?

今天老师上课时，补充这两个片语，但我不知道怎麽用。
in the east of ....
in east of ....
但我知道，有加the 是名词
没有加the是副词。
我目前只查到in the east of ...在...东部
那in east of 跟in the east of
要怎麽区分跟使用
