標題[請益] why are we stopped 這句的文法？

在看大英雄天團時，有幕是主角們被追殺，卻在紅綠燈前緊急停車，
有人問了：why are we stopped?
這句看不懂哩，為什麼不是說 why did we stop?
請高手解惑，謝謝！
