※ 引述《kevinj (kk)》之銘言： : 小弟是剛開始練習寫英文讀書心得的新手 : 想請教一下 : 該如何描述下列的場景? : "一群人圍繞著爐火坐著，分享那些可能是他們自己發生過的故事" 我把我的思路分享一下 第一：先把意義抽出來 原句可分成三段意思 1) 一群人圍繞著爐火坐著 2) 他們在分享故事 3) 故事可能是他們自己的經歷 : They plant on the seat around the warm fire, 1) They sit around the fire. 用plant不用sit在此句不通 : some of them share the stories that might be happened anywhere 2) They're sharing stories. 3) The stories might be from their own experiences. : from themselves. 如果這三句話寫不出來，那就得從基礎文法先加強。 小學-國中的那些"this is my book, this is my dog"的功力就在這裡顯現啦 第二：把句子連貫起來 從以上例句看來，1跟2很好連，可以 1+2) They are sitting around the fire and sharing stories 從這裡開始1跟2動詞搭配要開始思考，如sit->sitting 有了1+2後，再加3也比較好加 ...that might be from their own experiences. 可以明顯看出這個階段的文法要求高了一點，但是階段一做不好，階段二文法怎麼背都 沒用 第三：開始修辭 形容一下fire: cozy, small, flickering... 換個詞 campfire, stove... 加點細節 sitting on the ground, sitting in their chairs, sitting on logs They are sitting in their chairs around the cozy campfire and sharing stories that might be from their own experiences. 簡單的說，我把原句拆成意義單位(meaning unit)，然後每個意義單位寫成一個短句 再拿這些短句做基礎開始拼湊修改 大家會寫出所謂中式英語，很多是因為在基礎造句時是直接看中文然後順著翻/寫 而沒有把中文的意義抽出來，每個獨立意義拼成一句，再把它們重組 也就是說在翻譯/寫作時是以中文詞為處理單位 而不是以意義為處理單位 k大的句子雖然簡單，但為何寫不好，這是原因之一 -- 'Cause it's a bittersweet symphony, this life Trying to make ends meet, You're a slave to money then you die -Bittersweet Symphony, The Verve --
