去年下半年開始想學習了解佛法真義 但覺得怎麼法師們講解時 一堆專業術語 越聽我越頭昏腦脹 後來我決定找出英文版的佛經來對照看 瞬間感覺好懂許多 我今天自己試著翻譯了2014年一行禪師新譯的英文版心經 想請教大家 是否有哪些地方可以再翻譯得更好 ^_ Avalokiteshvara 觀世音菩薩 while practicing deeply with the Insight that Brings Us to the Other Shore, 在實踐讓我們解脫的智慧之後 suddenly discovered that 突然發現到 all of the five Skandhas are equally empty, 五蘊都是空的 and with this realisation 有了這樣的認知後 he overcame all Ill-being. 觀世音菩薩克服了所有的厄難 “Listen Sariputra, 聽好了 舍利弗 this Body itself is Emptiness 色蘊本身就是空性 and Emptiness itself is this Body. 空性本身就是色蘊 This Body is not other than Emptiness 色蘊就是空性 and Emptiness is not other than this Body. 空性就是色蘊 The same is true of Feelings,Perceptions, Mental Formations, and Consciousness. 相同的道理可以應用到受蘊 想蘊 行蘊 與 識蘊 “Listen Sariputra, 聽好了 舍利弗 all phenomena bear the mark of Emptiness 所有的現象本質都是空相 their true nature is the nature of 所有現象的本質都 no Birth no Death, 沒有生 也沒有死 no Being no Non-being, 沒有存在 也沒有不存在 no Defilement no Purity, 沒有汙垢 也沒有純淨 no Increasing no Decreasing. 沒有增加 也沒有減少 “That is why in Emptiness, 這就是為什麼在空性裡 Body, Feelings, Perceptions, 色蘊 受蘊 想蘊 Mental Formations and Consciousness 行蘊 識蘊 are not separate self entities. 無法與自性分離 The Eighteen Realms of Phenomena 十八界 which are the six Sense Organs, 也就是六根界 the six Sense Objects, 六塵界 and the six Consciousnesses 與六識界 are also not separate self entities. 也無法與自性分離 The Twelve Links of Interdependent Arising 十二因緣的產生 and their Extinction 與破滅 are also not separate self entities. 也無法與自性分離 Ill-being, the Causes of Ill-being, 苦 苦的原因 the End of Ill-being, the Path, 苦的結束 八聖道 insight and attainment, 智慧與知識 are also not separate self entities. 也無法與自性分離 Whoever can see this 能了解這件事的眾生們 no longer needs anything to attain. 再也不需要得到任何事物 Bodhisattvas who practice the Insight that Brings Us to the Other Shore 菩薩們實踐了讓我們可以解脫的智慧之後 see no more obstacles in their mind, 心中不再有困難 and because there are no more obstacles in their mind, 也因為心中不再有困難 they can overcome all fear, 菩薩們可以克服所有恐懼 destroy all wrong perceptions 摧毀所有錯誤的想法 and realize Perfect Nirvana. 並且達到涅槃的境界 “All Buddhas in the past, present and future 過去佛們 現在佛們 與 未來佛們 by practicing the Insight that Brings Us to the Other Shore 都因為實踐了讓我們解脫的智慧 are all capable of attaining 而能夠獲得 Authentic and Perfect Enlightenment. (超脫生死輪迴的)真智慧 完美的智慧 “Therefore Sariputra, 所以呀 舍利弗 it should be known that 大家應該要知道 the Insight that Brings Us to the Other Shore 讓我們解脫的智慧 is a Great Mantra, 是偉大的咒語 the most illuminating mantra, 是最具有啟發性的咒語 the highest mantra, 是最崇高的咒語 a mantra beyond compare, 是無可比擬的咒語 the True Wisdom that has the power to put an end to all kinds of suffering. 是能夠終結所有痛苦的真智慧 Therefore let us proclaim a mantra to praisethe Insight that Brings Us to the Other Shore. 所以 讓我們念咒來讚揚這個讓我們解脫的智慧 Gate, Gate, Paragate, Parasamgate, Bodhi Svaha! 去吧去吧 一起去吧 一起到彼岸吧 覺悟啦 好極啦! Gate, Gate, Paragate, Parasamgate, Bodhi Svaha! 去吧去吧 一起去吧 一起到彼岸吧 覺悟啦 好極啦! Gate, Gate, Paragate, Parasamgate, Bodhi Svaha!” 去吧去吧 一起去吧 一起到彼岸吧 覺悟啦 好極啦! ^ --
