The valve design for the pneumatically balanced 2nd stage is very different fr
om the traditional demand 2nd stage. The pneumatically balanced 2nd stage’s L
P seat and the poppet have a hole in the center and there is a counter balance
chamber behind the poppet. When LP gas enters the 2nd stage, it will travel t
hrough the LP seat & poppet and when it reaches the counter balance chamber, i
t creates a force and this force together with the spring will push the poppet
and the LP seat to the orifice and seals the valve.
