大家好，请问一下
在麦克米伦辞典中看到这样的例句：
quote v.
She claimed to be quoting from an official report.
想问的是，为何这里要用be quoting？
我查claim的用法是：
claim(sb/sth) to be/do sth
那为何不写成：
She claimed to quote from an official report.
原例句用be quoting是什麽意思呢？「正在引用一份官方资料」？
不能用不定词的形式吗？
请教一下，谢谢！

感谢，大概懂这种「不定词进行式」的意思了。
但如果用单纯的「不定词」不行吗？就像这样：
She claimed to quote from an official report.

外国网友说用「不定词现在式」看起来不自然。
推敲了一下，大概是因为现在式表示「习惯、反覆的动作、恒久的事实」，
如果这样的话，就会变成「她声称她有引用官方资料的习惯」之类的意思。
我目前是这样理解的。
