标题[文法] 关於thanks for的用法

请问一下各位
以下两句都有合乎文法吗?
1. I really thank for Grandpa coming to live with us.
2. I really thank for Grandpa's coming to live with us.
我的想法是第一句
比较接近在说
I really thank for Grandpa (who is) coming to live with us.
也就是for的後面的Grandpa coming to live with us是名词
细分就是Grandpa是名词
而coming to live with us是形容词片语 对前面的Grandpa後位修饰
所以第一句翻译应该是
"我真的很谢谢将要搬来和我们一起住的爷爷"
而第二句的Grandpa's coming to live with us整个是名词
细分就是"Grandpa's"是所有格 "coming to live with us"是Ving名词化的片语
所以第二句的翻译是
"我真的很谢谢爷爷要搬来和我们一起住(这件事)"
这样理解对吗?
