标题[文法] 这句的文法应该如何分析?

出处：八月份Studio Classroom
Novara was probably the first person Copernicus had ever met who dared
to challenge the 1,400-year-old conclusions of taht era's paramount
astronomer: Ptolemy.
以下是我的问题:

(the first person
) Copernicus had ever met who dared
先行词 ￣￣￣￣￣(1)￣￣￣￣￣
to challenge the 1,400-year-old conclusions of taht era's paramount
astronomer: Ptolemy.
标示
(1)的部份，前面应该是省略了whom，在修饰the first person，
但让我困惑的是後面who dared to... Ptolemy.这句，
它也是关系子句，但是它的先行词也是the first person吗?
同一个先行词可以同时使用两个关系子句修饰它吗?
麻烦高手提点一下，
