標題[問題] receive受詞問題

大家好,
最近遇到了一個問題...
I pay 1 unit for the other person to receive 2 units.
這句的to receive 2 units是誰receive? I 還是 the other person呢?
我第一次翻成:
我為另一個人付了一個unit 以得到兩個 units.
問題是誰得到這兩個units 呢?
我認為是靠近two units 的那個受詞: the other person
請問這樣的理解是否有誤? 還是其實要看上下文決定受詞呢?
