這幾天反覆在讀這首詩 但是有幾句就是一直看不懂是什麼意思 查了網路資料也都莫衷一是 有些則是根本查不到 不曉得有沒有人能指點我一下: 1.第3行 "Nephews....sons mine": 這裡的nephews是指主教真正的nephews嗎?還是指當時圍在主教身邊、教堂裡年輕的神職 人員? "sons"用複數 是在當面稱呼這些nephews、暗示這些nephews全部都是主教的兒子嗎? 還是主教只是在病榻上呼喊著自己不在場的兒子們? 2.第54行 "How else/ Shall ye contrast my frieze to come beneath?" 這句實在不懂是什麼意思 3.第68行 "all of jasper, then!/ 'Tis jasper ye stand pledged to, lest I grieve / My bath must needs be left behind, alas!" 這句也不懂是什麼意思 (是主教改變心意、不想要black marble做他的棺材板，想改用 jasper的材質嗎? 'Tis jasper ye stand pledged to又是什麼意思?) 4.第89行 "...let the bedclothes, for a mortcloth, drop/ Into great laps and folds of sculptor's-work" 5.第118行 "...no more lapis to delight the world!" 不好意思 問題很多 拜託有讀過的人了:) --
