分享一下 最近在考試的時候 順手翻的...
Emily Dickinson的詩#49，#67。 ^^;
#49
I never lost as much as twice, 我未曾多於兩次地失去--
And that was in the sod. 而失去的那些，皆已凐於草間。
Twice hace I stood a beggar 兩度，我祁立於
Before the door of God! 上帝門前一如乞者。
Angels - twice descending 天使啊，兩度翩然下凡，
Reimbursed my store - 償我所失--
Burglar! Banker - Farther! 而那強奪一如匪徒
坐擁一切如銀行家的天父啊
I am poor once more! 我再度 孑然困頓於此...

Success is counted sweetest 成功的滋味由從未成功的人們
By those who ne'er succeed. --頌讚的最為甜美。
To comprehend a nectar 好比要體會仙露的甘美
Requires sourest need. 需要最苦楚的渴求襯出。
Not one of all the purple Host 沒有任何一位著紫袍居要位
Who took the Flag today 當今的掌旗者，
Can tell the definition 得以如此清晰地道出
So clear of Victory 勝利的真諦。
As he defeated --dying-- 惟遭擊潰，--瀕死之際--
On whose forbidden ear 他那禁閉之耳將聞
The distant strains of triumph 遠處傳來，那勝利的樂章--
Burst agonized and clear! 痛楚而嘹亮的激奏著!
