I have touched the angels who watch over fallen poets . I have read the inscriptions engraved on plaques of useless gold . I have long observed the complex chapels of Chinese families . I have stopped next to the anonymous tombs populated by insects and plants which make one remember simple natural things . Perhaps I have said to myself- the gravestones of the arrogant do not possess the grace of a flowering stalk . The cemeteries open up like the sea and receive us . Indisputably the living will not be able to destroy the perfect equality of the dead. --
