At its best possible output level, a firm has total revenue of $3,500 per day
and total cost of $7,000 per day. What should this firm do in the short run
if:
a. the firm has total fixed costs of $3,000 per day?
b. the firm has total variable costs of $3,000 per day?
a. 若廠商每天的固定成本為$3,000，則變動成本為$7,000－$3,000＝$4,000。因為總收
益小於$4,000時，故廠商應該停產。
b. 廠商的總收益足夠付擔$3,000的變動成本，所以短期之下廠商應該繼續生產。
