At its best possible output level, a firm has total revenue of $3,500 per day
and total cost of $7,000 per day. What should this firm do in the short run
if:
a. the firm has total fixed costs of $3,000 per day?
b. the firm has total variable costs of $3,000 per day?
a. 若厂商每天的固定成本为$3,000，则变动成本为$7,000－$3,000＝$4,000。因为总收
益小於$4,000时，故厂商应该停产。
b. 厂商的总收益足够付担$3,000的变动成本，所以短期之下厂商应该继续生产。
