http://sociology.ntu.edu.tw/~pclan/html/word/social%20boundaries.pdf 社會界線專題 Seminar on Social Boundaries 臺灣大學社會學系 2010年秋季 授課教授: 藍佩嘉 電子郵件: [email protected] 上課時間: 週二 3:30-6:20 pm 關於這門課 “To define something is to mark its boundaries” (Zerubavel 1991: 2)。區隔、分 類、排他等畫界工作，不僅是個人定義自我與理解外界的基本心智活動，也反映社會的組 織模式與文化範疇、權力運作與象徵鬥爭的微觀政治。這門課的旨趣在於探討：我們如何 從不同的理論角度來分析社會界線的構成與意義？制度性的社會關係與權力支配如何透過 象徵界線的建構得以複製與鞏固？行動者又如何在日常生活的實踐中參與社會界線的再生 產，亦即進行畫界工作(boundary work)？社會界線的類屬繁多，本課程的核心關切集中在 階級、族群、國族、性別等界線與支配關係之間的締連。 來上課的人 務必要帶著自己的問題意識來。我們不崇尚高空比武式的讀書比賽，而希望看到大家在閱 讀的過程中跟自己關切的議題、或是未來研究的主題，能有互動和對話。基本要求是：一 定要讀書，無故不缺席。每個人都要事先閱讀相關文獻，並輪流主持討論、報告解讀文本 。本課程以十人為限，人數有餘裕時可開放旁聽，旁聽生不是free-rider，請同樣繳交心 得與參與口頭報告。 每週都要針對指定閱讀教材繳交一頁的閱讀心得。閱讀心得的內容應包括1)該文的主要論 點(不是翻譯，而是簡要指出作者的發問、對話對象、研究設計)，2)你的評論(有哪些同意 與不同意的地方、對你有怎樣的啟發)，3)不清楚、不確定以及想要進一?討論的問題。請 在上課當天中午前用紙本交到我的系辦信箱 (請務必打字, 勿用電子版傳送)。期末報告則 可針對與社會界線相關之特定經驗現象進行初步分析，或是提出一個擬在未來進行的研究 計畫，字數約六到七千。 課程內容與閱讀文獻 (打*號的書籍請自行準備，其餘請到誠品影印店購買讀本) 第一週 9/14 課程介紹 Lamont, Michele and Virag Molinar. 2002. “The Study of Boundaries in the Social Sciences,” Annual Review of Sociology 28: 167-95.
