http://sociology.ntu.edu.tw/~pclan/html/word/social%20boundaries.pdf 社会界线专题 Seminar on Social Boundaries 台湾大学社会学系 2010年秋季 授课教授: 蓝佩嘉 电子邮件: [email protected] 上课时间: 周二 3:30-6:20 pm 关於这门课 “To define something is to mark its boundaries” (Zerubavel 1991: 2)。区隔、分 类、排他等画界工作，不仅是个人定义自我与理解外界的基本心智活动，也反映社会的组 织模式与文化范畴、权力运作与象徵斗争的微观政治。这门课的旨趣在於探讨：我们如何 从不同的理论角度来分析社会界线的构成与意义？制度性的社会关系与权力支配如何透过 象徵界线的建构得以复制与巩固？行动者又如何在日常生活的实践中参与社会界线的再生 产，亦即进行画界工作(boundary work)？社会界线的类属繁多，本课程的核心关切集中在 阶级、族群、国族、性别等界线与支配关系之间的缔连。 来上课的人 务必要带着自己的问题意识来。我们不崇尚高空比武式的读书比赛，而希望看到大家在阅 读的过程中跟自己关切的议题、或是未来研究的主题，能有互动和对话。基本要求是：一 定要读书，无故不缺席。每个人都要事先阅读相关文献，并轮流主持讨论、报告解读文本 。本课程以十人为限，人数有余裕时可开放旁听，旁听生不是free-rider，请同样缴交心 得与参与口头报告。 每周都要针对指定阅读教材缴交一页的阅读心得。阅读心得的内容应包括1)该文的主要论 点(不是翻译，而是简要指出作者的发问、对话对象、研究设计)，2)你的评论(有哪些同意 与不同意的地方、对你有怎样的启发)，3)不清楚、不确定以及想要进一?讨论的问题。请 在上课当天中午前用纸本交到我的系办信箱 (请务必打字, 勿用电子版传送)。期末报告则 可针对与社会界线相关之特定经验现象进行初步分析，或是提出一个拟在未来进行的研究 计画，字数约六到七千。 课程内容与阅读文献 (打*号的书籍请自行准备，其余请到诚品影印店购买读本) 第一周 9/14 课程介绍 Lamont, Michele and Virag Molinar. 2002. “The Study of Boundaries in the Social Sciences,” Annual Review of Sociology 28: 167-95.
