台灣大學社會所 2010 年 秋季 文化社會學專題討論 授課教師：賴曉黎 課程簡介 　　Raymond Williams 曾說：「英文裡有二三個比較複雜的字，culture就是其中的一個 。」事實上從現在的角度來看，除了Simmel, Mannheim, Lukacs & Gramsci之外，早期的 社會學者對文化的重視明顯不足，或者不令人滿意。直到1960年之後，有關文化的討論逐 漸擠進社會學界，而聚焦在文化自主性的爭議則陸續浮上台面。一時間，文化議題在人文 、社會學科裡形成風潮，這種典範轉移或許可以稱為文化轉向(cultrual turn)或文化復 興(cultural renaissance)。通過原典的解讀，本學期我們將從社會學的觀點對這一思潮 作一基本的介紹。 　　自然，文化的多義性與歧義性，解讀上難免也就充滿模糊性與曖昧性。在文化社會學 的研究中，說法雜沓、進路迥異，內容五花八門、範圍包羅萬象，取材上難免掛一漏萬， 撰擇上必然顧此失彼。然而，一個學期內能做的總是有限。經過取捨，本學期的討論就以 二戰前後的德國文化社會學為起點，先處理Mannheim & Elias，接著交待Arendt & Benjamin；之後，我們集中處理文化社會學理論的若干重要思想家，即：Horkheimer & Adorno, Gramsci, Althusser, Habermas, Bourdieu, Alexander, Lyotard, Jameson, Baudrillard, Bauman 以及 Himanen & Lessig等，雖說每位思想家分配時間嚴重不足， 但仍希望同學能清楚掌握文化社會學的主要論題及爭議焦點。 課程進行 　　本課程非基礎課程，修習同學需具備社會學理論相關知識，並於以下三份文獻（註1 ）中擇二撰寫閱讀心得，內容包括：摘要、關鍵字與概念圖。閱讀心得繳交期限： 2010.09.29（下次上課前48小時前）。未繳交者視同未修本課程。為了讓同學有時間撰寫 心得，課程延後一週（即2010.10.1）上課並延後一週結束。 　　 修課同學請到教師網站上註冊，本學期所有文件傳遞、消息通知與作業繳交等，請 全部 po 到「2010_秋_文化社會學專題討論版」版上，並請自行備份。相關網路問題，請 洽任課教師。 　　 1. 每週作業：依據讀本內容，每週有相關問題請同學回答，題目會 po 在版上，回 答也請回到版上。內容請直接徵引讀本，如參考其他著作請註明出處。每週作業請於上課 前48小時po版，切勿遲交。無故遲交兩次者視同一次未交，兩次未繳交作業者視同無故報 告缺席。　　2. 課堂報告：每週作業由兩位同學負責報告個人回答，並評論其他同學的 回答。負責報告的同學除不可抗力之原因外，不得缺席；無故報告缺席者，學期成績以不 及格計。課堂報告亦請於上課前24小時po版，切勿遲交。 　　 3. 期末報告：題目自訂，但以課程範圍為限，字數不得少於五千字。內容除本文外 必須包含三個部分，即：術語彙編、文獻回顧與參考書目。(a) 術語彙編即期末報告中主 要討論概念及其定義；(b) 文獻回顧即期末報告主要對話對像之反省與批判；(c) 參考書 目即盡可能羅列所有相關文獻，並需區分為：必讀書目與延伸閱讀。 　　評分方式：期末報告佔40%，每週作業佔40%，課堂參與佔20%。 註1：修習本課程同學必須於下列文獻中擇二撰寫心得，並於第一次正式上課前48小時前 繳交： 　　 * 葉啟政著 　　　　2004　《進出「結構─行動」的困境：與當代西方社會學理論論述對話》，頁 131~277，修訂二版，北市：三民。 　　 * Edles, Laura Desfor著；陳素秋譯 　　　　2006　《文化社會學的實踐》，初版，臺北縣永和市：韋伯文化國際。 　　 * Smith, Philip著；林宗德譯 　　　　2008　《文化理論面貌導論》，二版，臺北縣永和市：韋伯文化國際。 課程進度 Ⅰ 9 /17 課程簡介 Ⅱ 9 /24 撰寫閱讀心得二篇，並於指定期限內po版（本週不上課，課程延後一週結束） Ⅲ 10/01 Elias, Norbert ; translated by Edmund Jephcott with some notes and corrections by the author and edited by Eric Dunning, Johan Goudsblom, and Stephen Mennell 　 2000　 The civilizing process : sociogenetic and psychogenetic investigations.
