Although your answer is not quite what the topic is asking for, I actually think it's a very good take on the question. On the real TOEFL test, you are only given one topic, and you have to write on it. Very often, you may encounter a question which you are not able to relate to, and it may present some difficulties when forming an thesis. In my opinion, your strategy of writing about choosing between meeting an entertainer and meeting an athlete is brilliant. In some other tests, however, when there are multiple topics to choose from, the evaluator might think that you should have chosen a different topic to write about instead.
