It was his second session off the mound in three days after being sidelined following surgery on April 28 to repair a torn labrum in his left hip. "It went well, much better than my first one," O'Day said. "No hesitation and no pain when I land. It's only my second bullpen, but I'm really encouraged." O'Day is also encouraged that he has been able to go back to the sidearm style that has made him so successful. O'Day had a 1.94 ERA over the past two seasons, the fourth lowest in the Majors among relievers with at least 93 innings. "I was successful with it," O'Day said. "We talked about changing my delivery before surgery to avoid surgery, but you could get arm problems doing that. So I'm going with the same delivery." O'Day will throw another bullpen session on Sunday. The next step would be live batting practice and then a medical rehabilitation assignment in the Minors. O'Day is eligible to come off the disabled list on June 26 and is hoping to be ready by then. The Rangers aren't sure about that, but he should be ready at least before the All-Star break. "We're very encouraged how he is responding to the throwing sessions," assistant general manager Thad Levine said. "But there are two components we're dealing with. One is how he is physically with his hip and how his arm is doing ... before we send him to a competitive environment." He is still having occasionally pain from the stone and is still trying a number of remedies to deal with the situation. "Right now, I'm fine. ... The last two days have been good," Harrison said. "The thing just hasn't come out yet. The only thing is to get back my running strength. It took a lot of energy fighting this kidney stone and it took a lot out of me." Harrison allowed four runs in four innings against the Royals on Sunday. "I had no pain, but it may have gotten me tired," Harrison said. "I had no pain until I came out of the game and went back on the bench to watch the rest of the game. Then I started to feel it."
