RHP Omar Beltre -- After dominating the DWL during the regular season (2.79 ERA, .167 opponents' batting average through Dec. 20), Beltre was roughed up in his only playoff appearance for the Azucareros del Este. He surrendered four runs on four hits and two walks over 4 1/3 innings while taking the loss. OF Nelson Cruz -- Cruz is following up a solid regular season with a dominating postseason for the Gigantes del Cibao. He is hitting .385 with a home run and six RBIs in four games after a regular season that included eight homers, 21 RBIs and a .392 on-base percentage. Mexican Winter League (LMP) C Miguel Ojeda -- Ojeda batted .314 with a home run and four RBIs over his last 10 games with the Venados de Mazatlan to raise his batting average to .226. He finished with three homers and 10 RBIs in 46 regular-season contests. In Mazatlan's 3-2 playoff win over Navojoa on Jan. 3, Ojeda went 2-for-4 and drove in all three runs, including the game-winner in the bottom of the 13th inning. Venezuelan Winter League RHP Kendy Batista -- Batista's 2006 winter season ended with respectable numbers for the Tiburones de La Guaira as he went 1-3 with a 4.10 ERA.
