If you are, unfortunately, a peole who cannot get sponsorship and want to study towards a PhD at a good school, then you got to find your way out. Nobody is not suitable to be a PhD; the difference is just 'want' or 'not want'. : PhD 的重點並不全然在語言能力上 : 從另外的角度來說，如果你唸完PhD 還不具備有念Journal的英文能力 : 那我真的也要對你的PhD 資格產生懷疑 : 要增加國際觀、不同的經驗，個人覺得也免了 : 念博士不是去參加各國聯歡晚會 : 而且我相信你在top PhD program : 一天24小時都不夠用了，哪還有什麼時間去做這些事情？ It is true, particularly for those PhD programme with a tight deadline or financial problems. Studying a PhD is a very busy job, particularly when writing up a thesis. However, if you got time and opportunities to access the grobal villiage, why not? It may be not for you but; for me, life should not be only wasted on studying or researching. There is not just this issue, for example, there is always single PhD students everywhere. If you are single and have not yet got a girl or boy before your PhD, are you going to remain this status until you finish? I am not telling people to use more than 50% of time doing this, however, don't put too much pressure on yourself. Take it easy. By the way, reading journal papers written in English is not sorts of fundamental ability of a PhD. It is for Masters. --
