Studying a PhD is a very busy job, particularly when writing up a thesis. However, if you got time and opportunities to access the grobal villiage, why not? It may be not for you but; for me, life should not be only wasted on studying or researching. There is not just this issue, for example, there is always single PhD students everywhere. If you are single and have not yet got a girl or boy before your PhD, are you going to remain this status until you finish? I am not telling people to use more than 50% of time doing this, however, don't put too much pressure on yourself. Take it easy. By the way, reading journal papers written in English is not sorts of fundamental ability of a PhD. It is for Masters. --
