Steve Nash explained on Friday how he has no interest in becoming a ring-chaser,
despite how badly he has sought a title and has a limited number of seasons
remaining.
飄髮哥Nash禮拜五的時候表示,儘管他希望能在所剩無給的籃球生涯中拿個冠軍之類的,但
他還是不想當個*ring-chaser.
(*個人解釋是以拿冠為主要目的,即便壓低身價或投靠敵方也不足為惜的球星)
“Well, I mean I think for me, of course I want to win a ring,” Nash says. “
But at the same time I’m like, ‘I don’t want to win it with those guys.
Those guys have been the enemy for X amount of years.’ So I’m not quite in
that camp yet — ‘I don’t care, put me on the best team and I’m going to
try to win a ring.’ I still feel like kids from my neighborhood want to beat
the kids from that neighborhood, like we were growing up. I’m not ready to
concede, ‘Well, they’re better than us, I’ll join them.’ I’m just not
there yet. Maybe I’ll get there.”
他說: 我想對我來說,冠軍當然是很重要啦.
可是我覺得說"我才不想跟那些人一起拿冠,我們N年前就是敵人耶"
所以現在還不太能接受"隨便啦,把我丟到最強的球隊,我要冠軍啦"那種觀念.
我還是覺得宿敵就是宿敵,所以沒有想"打不過就加入他們吧".
未來不知道,但至少我現在不會那麼認為.
Nash did concede that reuniting with Dirk Nowitzki and the Mavericks would be
a different type of scenario.
“I’m not saying that couldn’t happen,” Nash said.
但如果是小牛的話,那又另當別論.
他表示"我沒有說過不可能喔"
Many around the NBA have wondered why Nash hasn't sought a trade to a
contender.
“A lot of people are like, ‘Well, why don’t you ask for a trade?’ Well,
you could ask for a trade and go to a team that’s in a worse position this
year,” said Nash. “So I try to be thankful for what I have, great
teammates, great coach, a city I’ve had a lot of success and enjoyment in, I
just want to play until they tell me it’s time to move on.”
然而或許很多人納悶Nash為什麼不想轉投強隊.
"很多人都問我為什麼不想換隊.但是你也可能因此被換到一支很後段的球隊"
"所以我很珍惜我現在所擁有的-好隊友,好教練,
還有這個充滿我快樂回憶和看我發光發熱的城市.
我想我會在這裡打球一直打到他們不要我. "
