Charles Barkley, one of the most popular sports figures in Phoenix history,
has been elected to the Basketball Hall of Fame, sources told The Republic on
Saturday.
星期六據可靠消息指出，老巴，這位鳳凰城史上最受人歡迎的運動選手，已經入選了
籃球名人堂。
The official announcement is scheduled for Monday. Barkley was not
immediately available for comment.
官方消息預計將在星期一發布，所以老巴還沒辦法馬上針對此事做出評論。
Barkley was elected in his first year of eligibility. He will join a class
that includes former Detroit Pistons guard Joe Dumars, Connecticut women's
coach Geno Auriemma and former Atlanta Hawks star Dominique Wilkins,
according to various reports.
根據多方報導指出，老巴在有資格入選名人堂的第一年就被提名且順利入選，他將和
前底特律活塞後衛老喬、康乃迪克女子籃球教練G.Auriemma、前亞特蘭大球星 - 人類精華
影片(Human Highlight Film) - D.Wilkins一同入選。
Barkley was the NBA's MVP in 1993 when he led the Suns to the Finals before
they lost to Chicago in six games. He averaged 23.4 points and 11.5 rebounds
and was named one of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History.
老巴在'93被選為年度最有價值球員，當年他率領太陽闖到總冠軍賽，與MJ帶頭的芝加
哥公牛血戰至第六場才落敗。他平均拿下24.3分、11.5籃板，並被選為NBA史上最偉大的50
名球星之一。
Barkley's former teammate Mark West, the Suns' vice president for player
programs, said the vote should be a slam dunk.
老巴的前隊友，現任的太陽球員規劃副總裁M.West表示，老巴應該是獲得評審團一致
認同入選的。
"At the end of the day, he's an icon of the league and one of the most
deserving candidates and should be a unanimous choice," he said. "If not,
it's a joke. He's one of the greatest players in basketball history."
他說"今天過後，他是聯盟的指標性人物及最實至名歸的候選人，而他應該是位無異議
的入選者。如果說他未能順利入選，那肯定是在說笑，他可是籃球史上最偉大的人物之一
耶。"
