標題關於TG的習題

大家不知道還記不記得chapter 1 習題第三大題有提到agreement
我去翻了一下Quirk的當代英文文法
有看到他談論關於government 這類的collective nouns
對於單複數動詞的用法他做了以下的說明~ 大家就參考看看吧
" The difference in substitution (指動詞單複數的轉換) reflects a difference in
attitude"
(1) the singular(單數動詞) stresses the non-personal collectivity of the group
(2) the plural(複數動詞) stresses the personal individuality within the group
