Josh Bard to vie for M's catching gig
Josh Bard 加入競爭水兵先發捕手的行列
SEATTLE -- The Seattle Mariners have agreed to a minor league contract with
Josh Bard and invited him to spring training.

The Mariners announced the deal Tuesday. Seattle has 14 non-roster invitees
for spring training.

The 32-year-old Bard played in 39 games for Seattle in 2010, hitting .214 with
seven doubles, three homers and 10 RBIs. He started the season with Triple-A
Tacoma before joining the Mariners in May. He has spent parts of the last nine
seasons in the majors with Cleveland, Boston, San Diego, Washington and
Seattle.
32歲的Bard去年出賽39場、打擊率2成14、7支二安、3 HR、外加10分打點。在去年五月
上大聯盟前都待在3A的Tacoma。過去九個球季大部分時間都待在印地安人、紅襪、教士、

Bard is expected to compete with Adam Moore and Miguel Olivo for playing time
behind the plate.
