Giovanni Cobolli Gigli has promised that Juventus will sign a
“great champion” this summer despite the current economic climate.
The Old Lady are expected to sign a big-name star
to galvanise their squad for next season's Scudetto bid.
我們預計將簽來大明星好衝擊來季聯賽冠軍。
But Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani has warned
that the summer transfer market will be slow due to
the lack of funds in the game at the moment.
但米蘭副主席加利亞尼說夏季轉會將因為缺乏資金而遲緩。
“I think Galliani was talking sense and I agree with him on several
counts,” Juve President Cobolli Gigli told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
我們主席說：「我認為他說的有道理，我在不少情況下都同意他的說法。」
“It is certainly more complicated running a football team in Italy than
in other nations and calcio is lagging behind when it comes to structure.
「在義大利要經營一隻足球隊肯定比在其他國家還要複雜，

“However, I should remind everyone that Juve are the first club
to build their own ground without jeopardising the sporting side.

“We will be fine in the short-term because most of our sources
of income are guaranteed.
「短期內我們一切順利，因為大部分的收入都有保障。」
“We have plans and we are looking for a great champion
to replace Pavel Nedved.

“It goes without saying that we will be careful,
but we have enough money for a big signing.
「我們當然會很謹慎，但是我們有足夠的資金可以砸。」
“We will definitely reinforce the team and the Old Lady
will come back even stronger next season.”
「我們絕對會補強球隊，尤文來季將會更加強大。」
Juve have been strongly linked with Valencia ace David Silva
and Werder Bremen midfielder Diego in recent weeks.
