Juventus ace Pavel Nedved will retire from international football
after the Czech Republic's friendly against Serbia on Wednesday.
The midfielder confirmed the news on Tuesday having already
expressed his intention to quit after the World Cup Finals.
“This is not an easy decision for me to take,
seeing that it isn't caused by any physical problem,”
said the 2003 Ballon d'Or winner.
Nedved說：「對我來說這不是一個輕鬆的決定，
不過並不是因為任何體能上的問題。」
“I have reached this point after considering all my options carefully.
「我在謹慎考慮過所有選擇之後，認為自己已經走到這一步了。」
“I would like to leave some space to the younger players and
that is why tomorrow's match will be the last one with the Czech Republic.
「我希望留給年輕球員更多的空間，
這也是為什麼明天的比賽將是我最後一場為捷克國家隊效力的比賽。」
“I will turn 34 at the end of this month and
I plan on spending more time with my family and
only playing for Juventus,” added Nedved.
「我在這個月底就要滿三十四歲了，我計畫花更多的時間陪伴家人，
而且今後將只會 JUVE踢球。」
“It would be very complicated for me to prepare for
challenging international matches while I play in Serie B.”
「要我在踢義乙的時候為迎接國際比賽作準備太過複雜了。」
Nedved, despite reported offers from Tottenham and Monaco,
has opted to stay with the Bianconeri despite their Calciopoli demotion.
儘管與 Tottenham、Monaco有過傳聞，Nedved仍然選擇留在降級的 JUVE。
The former Lazio player already retired
from the international stage in 2004 after
injuring his knee in the semi-final of the European Championship.
他在2004年歐錦賽四強戰傷到膝蓋之後就曾經在國家隊中退休。
However, he was tempted to return for the World Cup play-off
against Norway and subsequently appeared at Germany 2006.
不過在2006年德國世界盃對挪威的附加賽中復出。
The Czech ace has 90 caps to his name with 18 goals.
He was also part of the side that lost in the Euro '96 Final to Germany.
Nedved為國家隊效力９０場，有１８個進球，
他也是捷克在1996年歐錦決賽敗給德國的成員之一。
