Juventus-owned Fabrizio Miccoli will remain at Benfica on loan
for another season, while Alessandro Del Piero cheers on Gianluca Pessotto.
There was speculation over Miccoli's future after the departure
of Coach Fabio Capello for Real Madrid and the appointment
of new boss Didier Deschamps.
However, it seems as if the Turin giants have no intention
of bringing the Italian talent back at the moment.
JUVE無意把 Miccoli帶回都靈。
Miccoli spent last season on loan at Benfica and this evening
the Bianconeri announced they had extended that temporary deal
for the 2006-07 campaign.
上賽季已經租給了 Benfica，下賽季也確定續租。
Although bought by the giants some years ago,
he has only spent one season at the Delle Alpi in 2003-04,
loaned out to Perugia, Fiorentina and Benfica.
Juve captain Del Piero has pledged to stick with the side
even if they are relegated to Serie B or even C as a result of
the Calciopoli trial, whose initial verdicts are expected later this week.
The World Cup winner visited Turin's Molinette Hospital today
with Fabio Cannavaro, Gianluca Zambrotta and Azzurri assistant manager
Ciro Ferrara to show the trophy to Pessotto.
The Juventus team manager is in intensive care after falling
from a window at the club headquarters in an apparent suicide attempt.
“I am very happy, as he looked much better,” said Del Piero,
who had visited Pessotto just hours after the incident
before returning to Germany for the tournament.
Del Piero談 Pessotto：「我非常高興，因為他看起來好多了。」
“He is strong and now has to continue this battle.
I'm sure that he will win it. He was waiting for us and,
even if this has been a long day, it was a very powerful
and emotional moment to be there with him.”
