Tanaka regularly plays at right back for Japan and he has represented his
country at the 1996 Olympic Games, the 2004 Asian Nations Cup, and the 2005
FIFA Confederations Cup. Also featured prominently in Japan’s 2006 FIFA
World Cup qualifying campaign. Has played club football at Jubilo Iwata
for his entire professional career, winning the Japanese league title in
1997, 1999 and 2002. At the end of two of his J-League seasons he was voted
in the league’s best eleven.
田中誠擔任日本的右後衛，並且早在 1996 年亞特蘭大奧運就代表祖國出賽。他同時也
參與了 2004 年亞洲盃、和 2005 年的聯合會盃。在 2006 世界盃預選賽上他一直是日
本不可或缺的後防大將，也有令人滿意的演出。從出道至今都呆在磐田喜悅，曾和球隊
在 1997、1999、2002 年奪下日本聯賽冠軍。在最近兩個賽季裡他連續被票選為聯賽最
佳 11 人。
