Jerzy Grotowski 你我相遇是種緣分，不可強求？。 「第二方法」，簡單地回答，就是「不用大腦創作」，「不用觀念編舞」， 「不預想創作結果」，「讓形式降臨你」，「不為觀眾創作，不為自我創 作，而是奉獻出自己」…… Grotowski終身所作所為，根本上都是精神性的。人們說他「離開了 劇場」，事實上是他從未「在劇場裡」。就是在他早期的演出作品裡 ，劇場只不過是他的途徑，而非目標。（Schechner 1997:462） 讓我撫觸你，感覺你的撫觸，讓我注視你，同時完整地接受你的注視 ，沒有恐懼，沒有羞慚。我不躲藏，我就是我。讓我們至手這麼做 個幾分鐘、十分鐘、二十分鐘或一個鐘頭。讓我們到那個地方，在 那裡，你我將融為一體。事實是，這個需要（指你我相遇或融為一體 ）仍不完全清楚。它正在降生之中，正在浮現。它仍然未開花結果 ，無識無形。因而，事實上也不應具現為固定的形式。但是，它即 將來臨，已經近了，而我想，我如此感覺-它將摧毀我們習稱的劇場 。不是劇場，而是相遇。（Grotowski 1973:133-144） 我們活在語言之中，但也不只是在語言中活著。（Croyden 1997:83） 人必以其純全存有（whole being）來傾述原初詞「我-你」。欲使人 以匯融（concentration）於此存在，絕不依靠我但又絕不脫離我。我 實現「我」因相繫著「你」；在實現「我」的過程中我講出了「你」。 凡真實的人生皆是相遇。（Martin Buber, 1996:10） 經驗世界屈從於原初詞『我-它』。『我-你』則創造出關係世界 。（Martin Buber, 1996:5） 一九六七年Grotowski接受Schechner訪問後，Schechner所記： 一、 忠實於你真實的感受，不要隱藏或逃避。 二、 冒險，真正進入未知之境。 三、 用心去做，不要想到你將完成的東西。 四、 付出自己：如果你表演，不是為觀眾，也不可能為自己，而 是要百分之百奉獻自己。(Schechner and Hoffman 1997:36-39) Peter Book對於想要向Grotowski學習的人提出以下警告： 有個條件：你必須有天分(Brook 1997:381) Grotowski, whose simplest description of his aim is 'to cross the frontiers between you and me… To find a place where a communion becomes possible.' "our daily platitudes are themselves arguments against God" (Eugenio Barba, in Towards a Poor theatre, p. 84) "In the first place, we are trying to avoid eclecticism, trying to resist thinking of theatre as a composite of disciplines. We are seeking to define what is distinctively theatre, what separates this activity from other categories of performance and spectacle. Secondly, our productions are detailed investigation of the actor- audience relationship. That is, we consider the personal and scenic technique of the actor as the core of theatre art." (Jerzy Grotowski, Towards a Poor theatre, p. 15) The essential concern is finding the proper spectator-actor relationship for each type of performance and embodying the decision in physical arrangements.
