各位版友大家好：
因為在網路上試聽到一首歌，
找到歌詞如右

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HmdkfPAKtRo ( 似乎非原唱？)，
但想更進一步了解歌詞涵意，
故試譯如下，
有勞大家替不才修正。

Il était un prince en Avignon
Sans royaume, sans château ni donjon
Là-bas tout au fond de la province
Il était un prince
He was a prince in Avignon.
He had no kingdom, no castle, no keep.
The place (there) was at the bottom of the province.
He was a prince.
P.S. donjon 翻成 keep，是借用 wiki 在 keep 的定義如下。
A keep (from the Middle English kype) is a type of fortified tower built
within castles during the Middle Ages by European nobility.

Et l'enfant que j'étais
Cueillait pour lui bien des roses
En ce temps le bonheur était peu de choses
When I was a child,
I had been gathering him some roses.
At that time the happiness was just tiny.

Il était un prince en Avignon
Sans royaume, sans château ni donjon
Mais ces mots nous chantaient les campagnes
Des grands rois d'Espagne
He was a prince in Avignon.
He had no kingdom, no castle, no keep.
But the words we sang in the countryside,
(were) the great kings of Spain.

On devenait spectateurs
Et la ville avec lui n'était plus qu'un coeur
When the evening had been descending,
