I agree with both of you to some extent, but I thought I'd make a comment on this. I think it's true that some girls do "use" the boys for "free help", especially the pretty girls, who sometimes just take it all for granted, and isn't exactly thankful for what people do for them. But the interesting question is, is this particular to Taiwanese girls overseas? Or are all pretty girls like that where ever they go? It's true that they're adults, and should be responsible for their own actions. But who is it that pampered them so much that they just get used to it? Is there a rule saying that the boys must help out everytime he is asked? Is there a rule saying that he must accept all requests, no matter how unreasonable? I think, at the end of the day, it's quite impossible to isolate the discussion to 'the girl part' and 'the boy part'. You may very well disagree, but surely, girls would not be able to act like that if the boys don't do everything for them? And here's where I think a good point is made. Why are the boys so nice and helpful? Surely a lot of them do it with the hope of the girl becoming his girlfriend? I'm not saying that that's wrong. In fact, it's probably a good idea that you are nice to someone that you intend to go after. But, if he is unsuccessful, is the girl the only one to blame? Why do the pretty girls receive more help? Is that fair? When a girl arrives at a new country, and lots of boys volunteer to help her out, is it wrong to accept them, and say that she only wants to be friends? But of course, if the girl then goes on to mislead the boys, and even have multiple relationships, there I have no sympathy for her, for that is simply wrong, no matter what. --
