標題[請益] 一些英文的用法

要請問一下
假設要說
有一個東西可以偵測出身體的狀況
我們可以說
detect the physical condition嗎？
或是有沒有其他更好的說法!!
另外，找回走失的小狗(寵物)
可以說
to find out the lost pet
還是應該說 to search the lost pet
我是指在一般口語上的運用的時候
還有，指某種產品具有一些特色的時候
應該怎麼說
是說 xxx function 會比較好 還是 xxx features
因為我一開始想到的是 function 但是查了google的翻譯
是給我後者!!
