Repko had been in the organization since 1999, when he was taken with a supplemental Draft pick. A defensive specialist, Repko hadn't shown enough offensive production in recent years to prevent the Dodgers from signing Reed Johnson as the fourth outfielder after Juan Pierre was traded away, then adding Garret Anderson. "The only disappointment is they didn't show faith in me in the offseason," he said. "Definitely, it's a relief. There was no opportunity here. Now I'll go out and find a team to give me the opportunity I'm looking for. This is not the first time I didn't fit in the picture. Obviously, finally this year they felt they didn't need me as an insurance plan. That's what I've been the last two years. I look forward to a fresh start. That's something I need." The Dodgers' 40-man roster is now at 36. Assuming no other players are removed, it appears they will add four non-roster players for the 25-man Opening Day roster.
