I'm not sure of the question.
What caused the delay?
這兩句怎麼用名詞子句合併呢？
I'm not sure what caused the delay?
I'm not sure of what caused the delay?
以下是我強者朋友，政大外文所的朋友的解釋....
首先，
要先訂正原po的句子，應該是這樣才對：
I'm not sure what caused the delay.
I'm not sure of what caused the delay.
名詞子句接上去之後，應該要為肯定句，不應為疑問句，
原po不曉得是不是抄錯了，這邊原po先去反省一下 XD
再來，
be sure of 後面可接名詞，而這裡的名詞子句當作名詞接，可。
或者，be sure 後面可以接 wh- 的子句，因此這樣的形式，of 就顯的多於。
所以兩者都通，看原po怎麼解釋這樣句子的文法，
語意來說都是差不多的。
至於這一句的主詞，是 what 而不是 the delay ，故不需要倒裝。
