I'm not sure of the question.
What caused the delay?
这两句怎麽用名词子句合并呢？
I'm not sure what caused the delay?
I'm not sure of what caused the delay?
以下是我强者朋友，政大外文所的朋友的解释....
首先，
要先订正原po的句子，应该是这样才对：
I'm not sure what caused the delay.
I'm not sure of what caused the delay.
名词子句接上去之後，应该要为肯定句，不应为疑问句，
原po不晓得是不是抄错了，这边原po先去反省一下 XD
再来，
be sure of 後面可接名词，而这里的名词子句当作名词接，可。
或者，be sure 後面可以接 wh- 的子句，因此这样的形式，of 就显的多於。
所以两者都通，看原po怎麽解释这样句子的文法，
语意来说都是差不多的。
至於这一句的主词，是 what 而不是 the delay ，故不需要倒装。
