Both candidates have portrayed themselves as tough on China's efforts to bring the self-ruled island under Beijing's control. Ma Ying-Jeou has promised to develop economic ties with China, whilst standing firm on the matter of territorial integrity. Ma's nationalist Kuomintang party romped to victory in January's parliamentary elections, and Ma had until recently enjoyed a 20-point polls lead over his rival. But Frank Hsieh of the ruling DP Party has bounced back since China's crackdown in Tibet, warning that under the nationalists, Taiwan risks the same fate. A referendum will be held alongside the election, asking whether Taiwan should seek membership of the UN. Les deux candidats reconnaissent cependant l'importance grandissante des relations commerciales avec la Chine continentale. 兩個黨也在明天以不同方式加入聯合國的公投觀點中對立. 兩位候選人同時也知道與中國大陸得商業關係越來越重要 我想外國的報導還是無法道盡台灣複雜的時局 他們並不會提到公投的詳細情形 他們不會知道各種選舉策略 只會從結果來判斷台灣人民的意願 我想請各位再想想公投 莫因兩黨,只因我們國家 無意筆戰只是想請各位再想一想 我尊重所有人的意見 也謝謝各位撥冗悅讀 --
