我聽過一種回答是：
I am ethnically Chinese but politically Taiwanese.
或者回答說：Ethnic Chinese
可以參考一下這兩種回答方法
其中Ethnic Chinese的概念
其實就很接近中文用的「華人」一詞
不過我在美國也遇過一些來自越南、馬來西亞、印尼的華人，
他們通常都直接回答說他們是來自XXX國家的Chinese
所以就算回答Chinese 在美國也不代表你一定是中國籍
不過我自己怎麼樣都是回答說我是 Taiwanese
然後順便解釋說 宣稱自己是Taiwanese/Chinese在台灣是很爭議的問題
也跟外國朋友介紹一下台灣的政治議題
