我听过一种回答是：
I am ethnically Chinese but politically Taiwanese.
或者回答说：Ethnic Chinese
可以参考一下这两种回答方法
其中Ethnic Chinese的概念
其实就很接近中文用的「华人」一词
不过我在美国也遇过一些来自越南、马来西亚、印尼的华人，
他们通常都直接回答说他们是来自XXX国家的Chinese
所以就算回答Chinese 在美国也不代表你一定是中国籍
不过我自己怎麽样都是回答说我是 Taiwanese
然後顺便解释说 宣称自己是Taiwanese/Chinese在台湾是很争议的问题
也跟外国朋友介绍一下台湾的政治议题
