Shona people who live in Zimbabwe in Africa, they have a long history of playing mbira in their tradition. They play mbira for praying to ancestral spirits and nature spirits. Shona people say, "if we need rain, we play mbira and pray to the spirits, then we will receive rain. If someone have serious disease, we play mbira and pray to the spirits, then the person will be cured.
