昨天凌晨讀到下面一段(出自Machiavelli <The Prince>(中譯是作<君主論>嗎﹖),上下文是論述如何aquire and hold a foreign state)很激動﹐想來想去還是發來國學版了﹐如果不合宜﹐還請原諒。 For, in truth, there is no sure way of holding other than by destroying, and whoever becomes master of a City accustomed to live in freedom and does not destroy it, may reckon on being destroyed by it.
