昨天凌晨读到下面一段(出自Machiavelli <The Prince>(中译是作<君主论>吗﹖),上下文是论述如何aquire and hold a foreign state)很激动﹐想来想去还是发来国学版了﹐如果不合宜﹐还请原谅。 For, in truth, there is no sure way of holding other than by destroying, and whoever becomes master of a City accustomed to live in freedom and does not destroy it, may reckon on being destroyed by it.
