The Pacers selected Gerald Wallace, who had played a total of three minutes this season prior to Friday night. Wallace may have been caught off guard, but he sure didn’t show it. The 14-year vet toed the line and canned both free throws to snap a 75-75 tie and put the Celtics on top by two. And his impact didn’t end there. Wallace also went on to make multiple defensive plays that allowed Boston to extend its lead to as many as six points before he exited with 2:50 remaining in the game. Pressey was electric during his fourth-quarter action, totaling five points, four assists and two steals over nine-plus minutes of action. He exited the game with a plus-eight mark in the plus/minus category. Sullinger more than held his own while tallying a team-high 17 points to go along with six rebounds and five assists. Sullinger scored both on the interior and the perimeter. He shot 4-of-6 in the paint against the league’s leading shot blocker, canned three jumpers from the deep midrange, and also canned a 3-pointer from the left wing. His 8-of-17 shooting night was nearly identical to Hibbert’s 8-of-16 performance, and Boston outscored Indiana by eight points while Sullinger was on the floor. The game featured seven ties and seven lead changes. Indiana outscored Boston 56-34 in the paint. No player in the game tallied more than six assists. Rajon Rondo was the only player to dish out six dimes. Roy Hibbert recorded game highs of 22 points and 11 rebounds. Jared Sullinger led the Celtics with 17 points and also contributed six rebounds and five assists. The teams combined to shoot 27-of-29 from the free-throw line (13-of-13 by Indiana, 14-of-16 by Boston). Four Celtics totaled at least four assists. The Celtics limited the Pacers to only two fast break points. Jeff Green accounted for one-third of Boston's nine made 3-pointers. Hibbert blocked a game-high four shots.
