有位同學來信問我有關FRM第四章（中譯本第153頁）三個問題，我想這應該也是一般多數 人會碰到的問題，因此我在此公開答覆，與大家分享。因方程式無法在ptt上呈現，所以 我用簡化的方式說明。若還有問題，歡迎同學們來信討論。 問題一： FRM第四章（中譯本第153頁）第九行中Cholesky因數分解中，在第十行有一個等式，等式 右邊第二個中有一個0我解不出來。 答覆： 你當然解不出來，因為p.153的第四行等式的x後面漏掉一個x’= 要把這個x’=插入等式中間就可以了。 問題二： p.154 FRM 1999-Q29的問題Given the covariance matrix的問題 答覆： p.154的題目為 Example 4-14：FRM（中文翻譯本誤植為ERM）Exam 1999-Question 29 Given the covariance（中文翻譯本誤植為convariance）matrix，… p.157 Answers to Chapter Examples. Example 4-14：FRM Exam 1999-Question 29 c) This involves a Cholesky decomposition. We have 中文翻譯解答p.157的11應為x的下標，而x^2應有11的下標。 問題三： p.201 FRM 2002-Q50 Given strictly positive interest rates, the best way to close out a long American call option position early ( option written on a stock that pays no dividends ) 在沒有發放股利之餘不是不會提早執行，為何會將選擇權賣出呢？ 答覆： Example 6- 9 : FRM Exam 2002- Question 50 Given strictly positive（中文譯本誤植為psitive）interest rates, the best way to close out a long American call option position early ( option written on a stock that pays no dividends ) would be to a ) Exercise the call b ) Sell the call c ) Deliver the call d ) Do none of the above p.220 Answers to Chapter Examples Example 6- 9 : FRM Exam 2002- Question 50 b ) When there is no dividend , there is never any reason to exercise an American call early. Instead, the option should be sold to another party. 本題是問：給定正利率，要提前結清美式買權多頭（不發放股利之股票的選擇權）將會是 ： a) 執行買權 b) 出售買權 c) 交付買權 d) 不做上述任何動作 由於利率為正，故有貨幣時間價值，若如a)提前執行買權，則獲利為股價減執行價格。可 是因為有貨幣時間價值，故此決策比等到到期日再執行還差。因為若可等到到期日再執行 ，則折現至現在的價值為股價減執行價格的折現值，比股價減執行價格還大。 若該股票有發放股利，則答案就不同。因為唯一提前執行的理由，在於可得到發放的股利 。直覺上，對應資產較高的殖利率，會使持有對應資產比握有選擇權更具吸引力。 因此，本題的答案可用出售買權的方式獲取利潤。 -- CFA證照考試心得分享:http://www.wretch.cc/blog/vactorlee --
