常常有人說＂動物沒有靈＂，據我所知，除了中文和合本聖經以外幾乎 沒有聖經抄本或是聖經譯本會支持這樣的說法。 不論是"靈魂/體"二分法，或是"靈魂體"三分法，＂動物沒有靈＂是與聖經矛盾的說法。 希伯來文聖經的靈與氣息都是同一個字，ruach。 以下我在希伯來文句子中寫成rwuach保留希伯來文字母子音的原有特徵。 中文聖經的譯者遇到動物有ruach，就翻譯做氣息不翻譯做靈，遇到人有ruach就翻成靈。 這是不對的，我們來看看人與動物死後的ruach，就知道動物有沒有靈ruach了。 以下我在希伯來文句子中把靈ruach寫成rwuach保留希伯來文字母子音的原有特徵。 傳道書 3:19 因為世人遭遇的，獸也遭遇，所遭遇的都是一樣：這個怎樣死，那個也怎樣死，氣 息(原文：靈)都是一樣。人不能強於獸，都是虛空。 "這個怎樣死，那個也怎樣死，氣息(靈)都是一樣" k@mowt 　　　zeh 　　　ken mowt 　　zeh 　　w@rwuach 'echad 　　　 lakol (as death of this [is] so, death of that; and spirit the (same) one to-all) 已經說明了，人與獸的死亡，人的靈與動物的靈的下場，都是一樣虛空，差異不大。 傳道書 3:20 誰知道人的靈是往上升，獸的魂(原文是靈)是下入地呢？ 對於支持靈與魂相同者，此句也不支持動物沒有靈。 對於認為靈與魂不相同者，這句經文翻譯不當， 原句希伯來文反問的是人的靈與獸的”靈”，而不是獸的魂(nephesh)。 希伯來文舊約，希臘文舊約，通俗拉丁文譯本舊約，KJV英文舊約， 都把這句翻譯成獸的”靈”，而不是”魂”。 傳道書 3:21 Hebrew OT: Codex Leningrad 列寧格勒抄本(死海古卷發現以前最早的舊約抄本) Miy yowde"a rwuach b@ney ha'adam ha"olah hiy' l@ma"@lah (who [is] knowing spirit of sons of the man [is] ascending, she(spirit) to the upward? w@rwuach hab@hemah hayoredet hiy' l@matah la'arets (And spirit of the beast [is] descending, she(spirit) down to the earth?)
